A curly haired, Middle-Eastern, paint stained artist and designer based in Los Angeles, California. I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor in Product Design from Otis College of Art and Design. I spent the earlier part of my life in political Iraq and later in Dubai’s cultural mixing pot which gave me a unique perspective on the world (I like saying “born in Iraq, grew up in Dubai, matured in LA”). Art and design became my tool to understanding and connecting with the world. It was my ticket to getting accepted in new places, but it was also a form of resistance for me as a teenager. As I got older I began to see that making, designing and flexing the creative muscle is the ultimate way of celebrating life. Humans make based on their past experiences in their“present” for their future... What’s more optimistic than that?
My work is always attempting to celebrate something. I make to celebrate life, to celebrate people, to celebrate progress and to celebrate culture. I hope my work celebrates you in some way.
