Behind the Concept

After experimentations with acrylic gel medium during my semester in Fine Arts, I came across some interesting material properties. I learned that when the material is “fresh” and it hasn’t fully dried yet, it remains very opaque, it is also dry to the touch. This allows me to manipulate the material and create a product that will continue to alter physically after production. As the material ages and cures, it turns transparent revealing the final design and whatever was embedded within it. The bag I created was fully transparent within three weeks.
