I am an Iraqi artist and designer based in Los Angeles, California. I graduated with a Bachelor in Product Design from Otis College of Art and Design. Spending the earlier part of my life in political Iraq and later in Dubai's cultural mixing pot gave me a unique perspective on the world. With my heightened political awareness and my fascination with culture I became interested in how design can play part in culture, politics and social change. I believe in design as form of resistance. Making and designing is the ultimate way of celebrating life. We make based on our past experiences in our “present” for our future. What’s more optimistic than that. My work is always attempting to celebrate something. I make to celebrate life, to celebrate people, to celebrate progress and to celebrate culture.
I hope my work celebrates you in some way.
